The aim of this course is to inform students about the evaluation of the position of agriculture in the national economy, the development of the Slovak and world agricul- ture, the policies of importing countries, instruments of agricultural policies – like prices, direct payments, production quotas, Common Agriculture Policy of the EU, rural development and structural funds, agriculture policies of US and other OECD countries resp. developing nations. |

16.1 Knowledge: The graduate of the course will be able to evaluate the impacts of agricultural policies on households, firms and welfare 16.2 Skills: The student will have skills to use various quantitative methods to assess effects of agricultural policy. 16.3 Social competences: After taking this course students will have skills to use various quantitative methods to assess effects of agricultural policy. Students will learn theory and empirical methods for evaluation of agricultural policies. 16.4 Transferable skills – not tied to just one subject: Ability to write reports and present them to the public. |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
Midterm written exam 30 points, final written exam 30 points, assignment project paper with presentation 30 points, coursework 10 points. The student can achieve the evaluation grade A if he receives at least 93 points, grade B if he receives at least 86 points, grade C if he receives at least 79 points, grade D if he receives at least 72 points and grade E if he receives at least 64 points. |
