FIELD OF STUDY: ECONOMICS / ECTS: 6 / semester: 2 Form and level: SM Status: obligatory Prerequisites: None The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the tools and methods of strategic planning, with particular emphasis on strategic analysis. After completion of the subject student understands base of strategy formulation and implementation. The student understands problem of strategic management process from the point of setting vision and objectives, through strategy formation to the strategy implementation. |

Lectures and exercises: 1. Strategy; Concepts and development of strategic management; Levels of strategic management 2. Strategy management process, Core of strategic management; Process of strategic management 3. Goal oriented company, vision and goals of company External analysis, Core of external analysis; Macro and micro environment 4. Internal analysis, Core of internal analysis; Competitive advantage, VRIO analysis 5. Strategic synthesis, SWOT analysis and strategies according to SWOT; SPACE analysis and strategies according to SPACE . 6. SWOT analysis in selected companies; Suggestion of strategy according to SWOT. 7. Corporate strategies, Concentration on a business and convergence to diversification; Growth strategies; Stabilization strategies; Revitalization strategies, Measuring of diversification; Analysis of competitive Firms. 8. Managing of corporate portfolio, Methods of portfolio analysis; Management of multibusiness companies 9. Business strategies, Contingency approach and generic approach, Hall model; Miles-Snow strategies 10. Business strategies in 10. selected situations, Strategies in the beginning, mature, depression of industry; Strategies for leaders, followers and weak companies; Strategies for companies in crisis. 11. Efekty uczenia się: |
16.1 Knowledge: After completion of the subject student understands base of strategy formulation and implementation, knows the problem of strategic management process from the point of setting vision and objectives, through strategy formation to strategy implementation at last. 16.2 Skills: Student is able to apply gained knowledge into practice. Student is able to analyse external and internal environment of company, cerates and chooses appropriate strategy according to results of man methods, evaluates portfolio of company. 16.3 Social competences: Student is able to think strategically and makes decisions in strategic development of company. 16.4 Transferable skills: Student knows how to use of domestic and foreign literature and other information resources, is able to indetyfy practical problems in the organization. |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
Lectures: written exam - a written form of answers to questions about the issues discussed in lectures. A (100-93 points), B (92-86), C (85- 78), D (77-71), E (70-64). FX 63 and less. Exercises: final grade is the average of forming grades obtained during exercises for activity in classes, i.e. the implementation of individual work and performed team tasks (in groups or in pairs) during the exercises. Final mark = 0.6 x exam grade (lectures) + 0.4 x summary mark (exercises). COMMENT: The lecturer, based on the degree of the student's mastery of the curriculum content of the subject, based on his own didactic experience, formulates the assessment using the formal criteria set out above. |
