(tylko po angielsku) The main goal of the course is to acquaint the students with technology of carp production. As a food fish the carp is extremely important for the certain regions of the world (Far East, Eastern Europe, Central America). Also as the angler's main quarry (UK). That's why the principles of carp farming, the technology of seed production, fry rearing, the annual cycle of carp husbandry and the methods of propagation and rearing of pond fish species will be discussed. |

(tylko po angielsku) The introduction to the technology of carp production is the presentation of the status of carp farming in Poland, in Europe and in the world. Before the production methods are presented the Students learn about the characteristic features of carp ponds in the average fish farm, about the methods of increasing of natural pond productivity (winter drying of ponds, soil cultivatiom, liming, sediment removal, bottom raking, fertilization, control of aquatic plant growth). Then the principles of carp farming, planning of the pond stocking, farming cycles (fry production, fry to market size production), methods of spawning induction, control of the hatching process, technology of fry rearing, supplementary feeding of fish, annual cycle of carp husbandry, carp wintering and health control, semi-intensive management (polyculture) are discussed. (tylko po angielsku) Knowledge: Student knows the problems of Polish and world aquaculture, the basic principles of pond building, has the knowledge of extensive and intensive methods of fish culture. Skills: Student applies methods of fish breeding in the controlled environment, performs evaluation of biotic and abiotic factors in fish breeding, applies the proper selection of fish species designed to the culture in controlled environment. Social competences: Student correctly identifies and resolve dillemas connected with the performance of fisherman profession, is aware of the social, pofesional and ethical responsibility for the formation and the state of water environment. |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
(tylko po angielsku) Positive evaluationt is obtained on the base of formative assessment and it is issued on the basis of the arithmetic average of the three components of educational results (knowledge, skills and social competences). |
