Fundamentals of subject “Sociology of rural areas” gives the students basic information on sociology among country people, farmers and rural families. Because of wide range of issues which are taken up in this field, sociology of rural areas is connected with many sciences, not only social ones, for example with:

- geography of agriculture,

- history of peasants,

- agricultural law,

- agrarian politics and statistics.

- agricultural economics

Pełny opis:

Lectures are focused on different relations which appear among people who live and work in rural areas. In the programme of lectures there are some interesting issues connected with social aspects of rural inhabitants’ life. There are lectures about folk culture, kinds of local communities, traditional family farms. There is lecture connected with human, social and cultural capital of rural inhabitants, too. Moreover, situation in a village, in different time period is presented. There are issues related to present situation after European Union access in 2004.

8. Impoverishment, unemployment, homelessness, and social pathology in rural environment

9. Polish Village in the system of Polish People’s Republic

10. Human, social and cultural capital of rural inhabitants

11. Social effects of introduction of Common Agricultural Policy in Poland

12. Village and agriculture in contemporary Poland

13. Social aspects of rural tourism development

15. Peasants membership in public life, social awareness of rural inhabitants

Knowledge:

Students have knowledge about basis of sociology, especially on rural areas.

They have knowledge about human, social and cultural capital of rural inhabitants.

They have knowledge about different forms of rural tourism, especially agritourism.

Skills:

Students can ability to solve some problems connected with rural areas development in Poland, especially on the Malopolska Village

Social competence:

Students have ability of setting up agritoursm farms in Poland.

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

Evaluation of students' presentation. Also written report and written exam.

Praktyki zawodowe:

Grade E (2.0) - Student hasn"t any knowledge about the fundamentals of rural sociology and rural tourism.

Grade D (3.0) - Student has poor knowledge about upper issues.

Grade C (3.5) - Student knows basic about the most important problems connected with rural areas and with sociology of rural areas.

Grade B (4.0) - Student hhas knowledge about rural sociology and about the most issues related to it. His/her knowledge about rural tourism, and especially agritourism, and about basic of agritourism sociology is good.

Grade B+ (4.5) - Student has very good knowledge about rural sociology, and agriotourism sociology. He/she sufficiently characterizes the most important problems of rural areas in Poland, mainly in Malopolska Province. A student knows different forms of rural tourism, knows the rules of setting up agritourism farms and rules of providing agritourism services, too.
