Skrócony opis:

The course presents the aims and scope of contemporary agroecological research, abiotic and abiotic factors conditioning distribution of organisms in agroecosystems, the use of plants for bioindication and valorisation of the natural environment condition, differences between natural biocenoses and agrocenoses, as well as symptoms and ecological effects of human interference with agroecosystems. Presented will be the kinds and sources of air, water and soil pollution and their results, but also the methods of counteracting environmental threats. Discussed will be legal regulations concerning the natural environment, currently in force. Students will become acquainted with selected methods of environmental samples analysis.

Efekty uczenia się:

Knowledge:

The student:

- knows abiotic and biotioc factors and the consequences of their effect on the conditions of agricultural production

- identifies the features of natural and artificial biocenoses, estimates the effect of these systems on the inanimate environment, as well as knows and understands the consequences of human impact on the phenomena occurring in the agroecosystem

- defines basic hazards to the environment resulting from economic and economic activity of man

- quotes the most important legal regulations referring to the environmental protection

Skills:

Student:

- can apply in practice autoecological and synecological methods used for valorisation of agricultural habitat and assessment of hazards caused by biotic factors

-is able to rationally manage municipal wastes

-performs analyses presented during classes and interprets obtained results

Social competencies:

-student feels responsible for the condition of the natural environment and understands the necessity for its protection,

- realizes work in small teams to accomplish determined tasks

-realizes the necessity of constant upgrading his knowledge due to technological progress and changes in legislation.

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

Test (1st and 2nd term) and descriptive examination (3rd term).

Grade E (2.0) <60

Grade D (3.0) 60-69

Grade C (3.5) 70-79

Grade B (4.0) 80-89

Grade B+ (4.5) 90-94

Grade A (5.0) >95

Classes:

Grades for calculations and for actions taken during classes (the following will be taken into account: correctness of performing analyses and calculations, ability to use resource materials and the way of result interpretation).

Final grade: the arithmetic mean of grades from the agroecological and environmental protection departments.

1. E (2.0): given if a student obtains less than 60% of the required effects for at least one of three components (knowledge, skills, social competencies) of subject educational effects.

2. D (3.0): given if a student obtains at least 60% of the required effects for each of three components (knowledge, skills, social competencies) of subject educational effects.

3. C (3.5): given based on arithmetic mean of three components (knowledge, skills, social competencies) of subject educational effects (on average 70-79%).

4. A similar way of calculating the grades to the one presented in point 3 has been adopted for grade B (4.0 - on average 80-89%), grade B+ (4.5 - on average 90-95%), and grade A (5.0 - on average >95%).

NOTE: The teacher conducting the classes formulates the grade based on how well a student has mastered the program of a given subject, on their own didactic experience, and using the above-mentioned formal criteria.
