Skrócony opis: |
Current knowledge on conventional and molecular breeding, key aspects of genetic selection, applications of biotechnology in crop improvement Students learn the process of plant breeding that leads to the development of new, advanced crop cultivars. They learn methods of conventional breeding based on crosses and principles of biotechnological methods that can be used to support breeding efforts. They are acquainted with method of selection of forest trees, mating systems, progeny testing, propagation and deployment. They are introduced to applications of plant cell and tissue cultures, molecular diagnostics and plant genetic modifications for crop improvement. |
