The aim of the course is to familiarize students with specific issues influencing the development and success of Polish breeding of Arabian horses, of which our country is famous all over the world. The course is also designed to provide students with the principles and rules in breeding and usability of Arabian horses. A student completing the subject will get a deep knowledge of the breed, will know the sire and dam lines, studs, breeders and most famous horses and themselves will possess the ability to assess pedigree, exterior and utility of the Arabian horse.

Student characterizes the Arabian horse in the old and new type, lists the specific morphological and physiological features of Arabian horse, knows the diseases of these horses. Student explains the theories of the origin of the breed, plays the history and development of the culture emphasizing the impact of historical events of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Student identifies and characterizes the existing studs breeding Arabian horses in Poland, knows the people associated with the breeding of Arabian horses In Poland.

Student characterizes sire and dam line existing in Poland together with people involved in breeding. Student selects outstanding utilitarian (show, racing, ridding, endurance etc.) and breeding horses. Student evaluates show, race and endurance Arabian horses. Student is aware of the responsibility for decisions concerning the professional Arabian horse breeding. Student shows determination in the assimilation of a very detailed knowledge, understand its relevance to practice.

1. Fail (F): some more work required before the credit can be awarded; it is issued when during the course the student have obtained less than 55% of the required effects of at least from one of the three components of the educational results (K, S, SC)

2. Sufficient (E): performance meets the minimum criteria, it is issued when during the course the student have obtained at least 55% of the required effects of each components of the educational results (K, S, SC)

3. Satisfactory (D): fair but with significant shortcomings; it is issued on the basis of the arithmetic average of the three components of educational results (K, S, SC)

4. Good (C): generally sound work with a number of notable errors; it is issued on the basis of the arithmetic average of the three components of educational results (K, S, SC)

5. Very good (B): above the average standard but with some errors; it is issued on the basis of the arithmetic average of the three components of educational results (K, S, SC)

6. Excellent (A): outstanding performance with only minor errors; it is issued on the basis of the arithmetic average of the three components of educational results (K, S, SC)
